The history of Alternapak actually started in 1985 with the foundation of Variopak, a relatively small player in the market of gable-top cartons, which over the years acquired a 10% market share in Europe.
After an unsuccessful partnership with Elopak, that ended in 2008, Alternapak has now joined forces with Frapag, a leading investment company with long term participations in the paper and packaging
industry, and with Cartotechnica Veneta as manufacturer of the aseptic reels. Cartotecnica Veneta has been producing aseptic carton reels for beverage packaging for more than 20 years.
